| The Stats. d a t a f i l e. Crowe F. Almedio Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope Gender: M Age: 21 Time Period: Nox Obscurus assault Wing Colour: Red In the Past. g o o d o l d d a y s. Crowe was born in the year 2076 and grew up on Earth, living underground due to the fact that Earth's surface was decimated by World War III. He met Edge and Reimi in secondary school and they became friends, the younger two adopting Crowe as their older brother. He and Edge became both rivals and best friends, though Crowe views them to be more of the latter than the former. He's always been a few steps ahead of Edge, ability-wise, which is a cause of much frustration for the other man. The trio joined the Space Reconnaissance Force (SRF), and Crowe was appointed captain of the SRF-001 Aquila. The source of Crowe's exceptional abilities - beyond determination and dreams, since he has plenty of that - is made clear later on in the game. Crowe's family funded a genetic modification project known as the 'Project Hope'. As a result, he was modified as an infant (either prior to his birth, which is most likely, or soon after- the details are unclear) to be something of a superhuman. He, Edge, and Reimi were the only 'Seeds of Hope', aka successful subjects of the project, the only babies to survive. Crowe was aware of this, as was Reimi, though Edge was not. The characteristics of Project Hope are as such: when the 'Seeds of Hope' experience strong emotions or face a crisis they can't handle with normal human abilities, a crest on their body activates and they experience enhanced physical and mental attributes. | Personality. a l l t h e b e s t q u a l i t i e s. Crowe is kind of quirky in a lot of ways, and he can shift easily between cheerful and serious attitudes. Despite being a ship captain, he knows when it's time to play around and have fun, but he never acts out at an inappropriate time. He's a bit of a flirt, but doesn't take it too far. He is very compassionate for other living beings, Earthling or alien. He's not afraid to risk his life to save another, or for the sake of a greater goal. On the other hand, he's not exactly a pointless martyr. He knows when to play the hero and when to back off - qualities that help to make him a good leader, which is why he was granted a captain's position with his own ship despite his young age. Crowe is very proud of his friends, and the relationships he has with them. He's not afraid to talk about those he knows and cares for. He sees the potential in people and does his best to encourage them, yet he likes to tease them when given the chance. He's the sort of captain who knows the names of every single one of his crew members. He can be foolish, but realistic, and he doesn't mince words- he says what needs to be said, good or bad. He can be brutally honest sometimes, but he often tries to soften the blow with an encouraging comment afterwards. He is the first to criticize himself or admit that he screwed up. He'll apologize without hesitation and do his best to make up for his mistakes. Overall, he's a playful, strong-willed kind of guy.
